Finally Got A Current Account?

I have been with Natwest some time, they have called me several times saying I can upgrade my basic step account to a current account but it always gets declined as I have bad credit, anyway I wanted a current account because of a visa debit card, so tried A+L, got accepted for a premier direct with £250 overdraft although I got this cancelled, Now my question is how come, my own bank who I have been with for years can't help me out and the A+L will

Internal scoring?.... Maybe your external credit file (Experian, Equifax) is actually fairly decent, your internal score with Natwest is pure trash?.... In that case a move was the best choice anyway.

I also applied for an A&L Premier Direct Current account and have shockingly been accepted today!

Can anyone tell me what debit card this account will come with?

I wont believe its true until i have my account number and sortcode, but i have just spoken to someone and have an email confirming this. Although they said they could offer me an account, but not an overdraft.

    Thanks mate.
Did you have to take any ID or send off any ID or anything? Or just sign a form?

Would be great if you could let me know how long between getting the form and getting your card!

Oh - thats what i was concerned about. Can anyone else shed any light on this? Has the search already been done? Can the application still be declined at this point?
    Thanks
  • Sometimes the banks accept you and the account is put at pending status until all of the searches have been done. If they come back as unacceptable then they can cancel the application!

It may not happen with A+L but I worked for a bank that used to process applications in this way
