Help with benefits please

Hi i wondered if anyone could help me with what benfits we can claim.
My husband is only going to be working 15 hours a week as of tomorrow, so i need to find out what we can claim to make up for the money he isnt going tobe getting now.
So we have 2 daughters, the oldest is 5(almost 6) and the youngest is 2(almost 3), we get DLA at middle care rate for youngest daughter, then i also get for me, incapacity benefit, and DLA lower care and lower mobility.
I know the tax credits will go up, so hubby is going to phone them tomorrow, but will there be any other benefits we can get?
Thanks for any help
Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

    Welcome to MSE!

As your husband is now working less than 16 hours a week, you will no longer receive Working Tax Credits, but you will still receive Child Tax Credits.

If you enter some figures into www.entitledto.co.uk, this will give you an estimate of your entitlement.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask x

Your husband really needs a 2nd job of 1 hour a week to ensure you qualify for WTC......

15 hours a week will be no good at all, unless he is on a very good hourly rate, as you will probably have to claim Income Support as a carer.
  • nobody gets carers allowance for my daughter at the moment, no
