NUS discount Britannia Hotels - Not Working?

IF anyone has ever used the Britannia Hotels chain booking through their website using the 'trade users' login (instructions/code found on www.nusextra.co.uk ) they will know normally they offer an hefty discounts for students on hotel accommodation. Used this lots of times last year.

Strangly this year the prices are showing as the same using the 'trade users' login and by going through the normal booking. If you ring up and ask Britannia about this direct they deny all knowledge of offering NUS discount, despite it being offered on the NUS website.

I've emailed NUS but just wondered if anyone has noticed this.

hey yes ive just tried to use the discount but its just coming up normal prices!!! arrghh i need the room quite soon, any ideas what to do? ive emailed the britannia hotel but no reply yet

I wouldn't hold out any hope of getting a rooom. Britannia deny all knowledge of even providing student discount. My only suggestion is to ring NUS direct (I've forgot the number, I'm sure its on their website, it starts with 01625). I did when initaially and they were looking into it then, but nothing was resolved before I went to Manchester and ended up getting a different place and paying alot more.

What annoys me is I reported this to NUS yet its still on their website, so please please ring up too! The sooner we can get this working the sooner we can enjoy £40 rooms again!!!!!!!!

heya i got my email back from britanna hotels today, (the wolverhampton one) and they said it doesnt work on the website as the discount isnt off the internet prices and if i want to book a room using my discount i would have to phone them and ask for the person who emailled me,

hmmm looks like we do get discount then but we need to speak to the hotel directly about it first before booking anything
