Irrespective of any guarantee, you have rights under the Sale of Goods Act.
SOGA states that goods must be durable i.e. they must last for a reasonable length of time. The Act does not define what is reasonable, but I would say that you could reasonably expect a fridge freezer to last for longer than a year.
Contact them again and state that you wish to enforce your statutory rights, and therefore wish for remedial action to be taken. If you get no joy, send them a Letter Before Action (stating your intention to take legal action), and if still no joy, you need to issue a claim through the small claims court.
More information of SOGA is available here.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Thanx DMG
Very much appreciated

The manufacturer will guarantee your product from the DELIVERY date and NOT the purchase date.
Phone 08445 616263 and select option 3. Now go through the options to get to an advisor. Advise them your product was delivered on 6th Feb '07 and therefore still within 1st yr guarantee.
Depending on the price paid and manufacturer they should have an engineer out with 4 days.
Hope this help... Never judge those that try then fail, only those that fail to try! :mad:0 -
