Not a massive vent just a bit annoying. I went to Ilford today to see if anywhere had Call Of Duty 4 for the PS3 in stock. went in to Woolworths and they had loads of boxes displayed on the shelf. Took one to the cash desk only to be told it's not in stock. There were no stickers on the boxes or shelf to say. If you don't have it in stock then don't put out a load of display boxes on the shelf.
Come on you Irons

This has been brought up before, this reply i had from them when i asked why keep the empty cases on the shelf if its not in stock or at least put a sticker on the ones ot in stock:
I'm sure you'll appreciate that entertainment products cause security problems for us and we try to combat this by displaying empty cases or boxes. When a customer chooses an item, the empty case should be filled or replaced with stock from the entertainment counter. I'm sorry that the item you chose was out of stock and that you received poor service when you were told this. We ask our stores to keep the empty cases on display because customers now have the option to order products through our in store ordering and home delivery service. I am sorry this service was not offered to you. We would also keep the case or box on display if the particular item is expected to come back into stock on-line or in store. No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

I had this problem in the Woolies in Carlisle. It was near closing time and I had to choose between going to Gamestation or going to Woolies to get a game I wanted for the DS. I went to Woolies as I thought it would be cheaper, saw the box straight away and thought phew! only to be told it wasn't actually in stock. By the time I'd gone across the road to GS it had shut.... booooo!Toluna - 68,260 points (16,300 pending) | Pigsback - £2.72 (claimed £30) | Global Test Market - 230 points | OnePoll - £12.30 | Lightspeed - 480 points | YouGov - £15.75 | Pinecone - £8.000

This has happened to us dozens of times in Woolies, it's SO annoying, especially when you have been stood in a queue for over 15 minutes!
Whenever it happens now, I make a point of asking them if they can remove the other boxes (for the particular game) on the shelf, so other people don't get caught out the same way.
Surely someone should do that straight away anyway? It's only common ruddy sense!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
