That is very kind of you, I hope none of it is patronizing? I think I am just getting old and love quotes and sayings

OMG, not all! I honestly think sometimes I get my knickers in a knot about something, then you make a comment and I think 'oh yeah'. Like saying spending time with LO's as it goes quick, thats so true and today I've given him nearly all my time today and hes been an angel. Just wanted to make sure you know I'm not taking the pi$$ xx

Mmmmm if that was the case there would be a big X over our house ie bomb it into submission :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So true on both counts, Dusty has lots of good calming things to say and yes time disappears so quickly, I can't believe W is going to be 5 tomorrow  I fetched his bike today and he was so excited when he saw it sitting there in the lounge for him after school today.

Hmmm ... well, today I've been out mostly, so achieved little :)
• 2 loads washing done and hung on airer
• ecover bottles refilled
• homebrew kit purchased for DH, which he currently has the fermenting bin sterilising (a miracle, normally takes 3wks from purchase to doing ;) ).
• Been to hairdressers for highlights and cut :)
• Been out for lunch with DD and my ma
• plastics into the car for recycling
• um, that's about it ....
So PigPen is going to be brandishing her whip .. eek .... ok, so where do I look for tomorrow's list then?

Guessing tomorrow is going to entail bedrooms? For me, it's going to entail:
• Putting zips into 2 cushions I started to make at the w/e (having just realised ... I made 3, but only bought 2 zips .. d'oh!)
• Cutting up 2 old towels and converting them into "cloth wipes" for friend's impending baby .... (ie get that overlocker re-threaded and used!)
• HHI, cos that's all it ought to take
• Starting to put together old photo's for my great-uncle's 75th birthday (Saturday)
• Entertaining DD
• Placing my order for cards
• Putting together next week's menu plan (which obviously includes both pancakes and Chinese :) ).
• Doing a 10 fling boogie in the "living room" (currently not used, but a dumping ground)
• Try to find a) the steamer and b) the step ladder ..... I think it's time the hall got stripped.
But for now .... EE is calling me ..... so have a fun evening :)

grr came into front room and sighed to hubby lounging on sofa "oh rats I stillneed to do Ds's packed lunch". Did hubby offer to make it for me ? Did he heck. He just said "just pay for school dinners" Why do men get to stop of an evening ????

right am going to read this week's threads in batches between my other bits and pieces tonight!

pigpen - what are bread bombs ??

vanilla - nightmare about the 20p getting xtuck in DDs throat - did they give you the 20p back ??? Good luck for the next hospital visit.
Dusty - kids popcorn game sounds like fun :T if potentially messy ....

Mudbath - what size is your trampoline ? We are going to buy one this summer. We got a load of money for Xmas from MIL (DH says its giuit money, she never sees the kids and see lives 2 miles away ...... anyway I really want a trampoline! The kids will LOVE it

welcome catralense and well done on the first post luther cat!!

AnW's Mum that is so weird you talking about bell ringing - a good friend of mine told me yesterday that she goes bell ringing, she never told anyone really as she thought it was a bit uncool or something. Sounds like great fun!

hollyh hope your new pet mouse has gone one way or the other

soappie - bummer to you too re your tax return

newmrslockwood - good luck with the potty training. I don't think you have left it late. We tried in December with DD1 (she was 3 yrs 3 weeks at the time). Total disaster. So we leaving it for a while. And she is still in a cot (cotbed size). DS was a nightmare to potty train so I am not pushing it with DD1. Can't wait to hear how it goes ... ooo just read next post with update in it - well done!

vanilla - glad its not jiust me with a 3 yr old in nappies. she says so clearly "mummy I have done a wee in my nappy, please could you change it" whilst holding a new nappy in her hand so she knows all about it is just lazy

mudbath= 5GC sounds good, our frontflowerbed is a load of dead grass, just not sure if I have a spare 5 mins in the day. Maybe I will do it occasionally. 5 mins at a tme adds up.

maralum - sooooo cute your DD with the yoghurty face! We started solids yesterday on DD2 (4 1/2 months). You foget how it just goes EVERYWHERE helped alongby hands in mouth at the same time etc LOL

hopeless cook - my DD2 is 4 1/2 months (born 12th Sept) and its a nightmare trying to get things done! But I managed quite well last week so am hopeful we have turned some kind of corner.

tracyg - sorry your DS is being a pain, everyone else's is like it from time to time (or all the time), we have all been there, dont feel alone ((((hugs)))). I was in floods earlier, fed up of them treating me like !!!! etc

right I am up to 6om yesterday and end of page 9. Now to sew on some buttons etc ...... back in a bit....

• Evening all,

It's taken me forever to catch up on today's posts - Vanilla, thought of you particularly today and hope your little one is doing OK.

Pigpen - please benice to me when I've had a hard day!

Lil_me - you're deserting us to the machinations of the Evil Miss Pigpen:eek: Oh No!!!

Well, after a bad night (both me and DS were up a lot - I always wake when he does, even though he's 16, coz of his health issues) I got off to a good start before I went out:
• Bed made
• Cleaned cooker
• SS bathroom/shower room
• DW emptied
• WM loaded and run, emptied and hung up
Then I had an awful day at work. I had three candidates (one of whom is good friends in the TA with Simone on Ladette to Lady!) and we started our training session. After an hour of working on one task, one of them had only written about 8 words, despite much prompting and coaxing from me. In the end I asked her if she was going to get on with it or not and said I would leave her to make up her mind while I went to the loo. When I came back, she was still saying she didn't want to do it and would do it for homework. I reminded her that she is an adult (22) and that we have been working on the same task for 4 weeks now, and she should have finished it as last weeks homework. She wouldn't move, so I went to see her manager and she was taken to the office for a chat. As I said to the boss, I didn't want to make it an official situation by going to my manager, if we could keep it in house. Anyway, the chat helped, she did a bit more work on that task , then we moved on to something else and she has an absolute deadline for next week, without fail! I felt absolutely drained as I hate getting heavy with them. Should I really work with adult learners??? Hope tomorrow is better.

No 5GC today as I was exhausted, but the cooking's been going well. Sorry Hugh, but I bought a large chicken from Sainsburys for about £5 instead of a small Free Range from the butchers for £12. It did three good Sunday roast dinners, three with the left over lovely gravy, mash and veg on Monday, three Chicken Supreme today, and boiled the carcass up, strained and stripped it, set the bits of meat aside for the dogs tomorrow and used the stock to make Leek and Potato Soup, which is in my slow cooker as we speak!

Anyway, short and sweet tonight, off to do my printing for work, bath and bed.

Hugs to all (that way, I won't miss anyone out), and I hope you all have a good night's rest.

• Just checked the forcast and at the moment we are due snow on Sunday, DS3 birthday is Monday - how cool would it be to wake up to loads of snow as a present?

NOOOOOOOO!!! Not more snow!!!!

Dusty, that will be lovely for DD3. BF has suggested we make a snowman at the weekend. He's worse than the kids!!
• Oh and I missed the 5GC (5 minute Gardening Challenge) today. I worked an extra hour at work in the hope of getting some time off on Monday morning. Its the rugby this Sunday and we're off to Murrayfield and then partying in Edinburgh afterwards. Dont really fancy getting up at 5.45 am on Monday morning...

Had not too bad a day. Got quite a lot of my list done but as always wish I'd completed more.

tomorrow:

Wonderful Wednesdays - Master Bedroom & Landing

Level 1
Check fire alarms are working
Remove and wash bed linen.
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen, air the bed if possible
15 minutes floordrobe clearance
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed

Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more

• Ebay/Amazon/Car boot search, anything that can be sold which is no longer used? Cheaper listing day on Ebay this Thursday
• 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
• Clean windows in these rooms
• Check the airing cupboard, anything that is way past it's use by (maybe recycle for rags if possible, you could donate old sheets oor towels to a local animal rescue for bedding)
• Clean the bed frame where you can, vacuum if cloth covered, wipe with a cloth if wood/metal etc

Also:

Cook tea
wash and dry up
surfaces and shine sink
one load of washing
tumble clothes on airer
prepare lunch for thurs

Have quite a lot to do at school tomorrow but I think i've left the list on my desk so will have to see what I can complete off that
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
