Panasonic DMREX77..plus which cable?discs?

I have searched on this forum, and read a number of interesting and informative threads. I have decided to go for a new recordable DVD player. The one I have looked at is the Panasonic DMREX77. On Amazon it is £219.98. (I am keen to buy it from here as I get cashback from using the Amazon site, so unless it is significantly cheaper elsewhere then I am happy to get it from there.)
What I want to know is willl I need to purchase a cable to connect it to my TV? The Amazon site suggests an HDMI cable and recommends one for about £12, but that is from a 3rd party site on Amazon.
We dont have an LCD tv, so I guess the quality of the cable is not so important?
What sort of discs do I need to buy as well?

Thanks for any advice.

If you don't have a Plasma or LCD Tv you won't have a HDMI port on your TV as there were ony ever two CRT HD TVs sold in the UK as far as I know. I guess it will connect via Scart.

Out of interest how od you get cashbakc on Amazon as they're not on any of the cashbak sites I've used.

If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • It is not cashback for me, but my kids school belong to 'buyat' and Amazon donate a (small) percentage of anything bought through the schools 'buyat' link to the school.
