Please help !
I have just bought some DVDs to do a backup ....had to buy a set of each . Now the problem is this.......... one set say DVD + and the other set say DVD -. I have found this on another thread :
An identical approach exists for DVDs, there being both recordable (DVD-R) and rewritable (DVD-RW) disks, however the issue is slightly complicated in that there exists two common formats, plus and minus. So you might see DVD+R or DVD+RW advertised too. Many players accept both formats no problem, but a great deal are fussy so you need to check first which format you need. This does not apply for CD-Rs.
How do I know which I need ?
Thank you for any help

If they're for backing up stuff off your PC, it won't really matter if you use plus or minus.
You might see a difference with standalone dvd movie player or consoles, but for what you're doing - and assuming your writer will write both formats - you'll be fine. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Thanks weegie.geek for the prompt reply !.
Any way of finding out whether it will use both or whether it's fussy ?
