And now somehow... theres water leaking from the doorframe of my downstairs internal door.. how does this happen.
.. i've checked the roof for loose tiles etc... but thats all fine..
i have no idea who to call... how to fix it.... where do i start....
please please can anyone give me some advice....
Thanks in advance..

Walls dont go green just because they get a bit wet when the rain falls against them. Are your gutters leaking just above the wall where it is green?
As the leak from above the downstairs internal doorframe, I would think that is a problem unrelated to your green wall. What is above directly the doorframe on the first floor?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
I've lived here for 3yrs now.. and the wall has had the greeney furry look on the bricks since then.. but it seems to have spread more...and the wall is indeed very wet looking.. especially since the very wet summer.. the leaking started last week and only happens when it rains... The gutters
above are in good state... and above the door frame is a walk-in-wardrobe on the first floor..
Someone suggested rainwater can go through the cavity .... not sure how. could it be cos i had the cavity wall insulation about a year ago??0 -
Could be that a gutter is leaking. Also the brick may be porous. You can get water proof seal that you apply on brick to prevent water penetration. Its very easy to apply as long as you dont mind heights and some hard work. Just brush it on. Thompsons water seal is one such product. You may need to get rid of any green algae first though0

Green algae... whats the best way to remove this...please?0

I think Cuprinol so a algae cleaner for walls or they use to.0

Thanks Poppycat....
.... So is it just a matter of removing all the algae from the whole wall, then applying water seal all over it... that does'nt seem too hard... at least its not a big costly job like "re-pointing" the wall...0 -
Ordinary household bleach, diluted, will get rid of algae."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
