my hours dropping of system

Options
Hi
Ihave what the WTC call a technical fault re my claim according to
the yougov calulator I should be receiving around £130.00 per week
for WTC and CTC but I,m receiving £33.00 a week no CTC as that has
finished even though my son is still in full time education at school
the reason being according to the helpline my hours are dropping of
the system so the system is reclaim previous years awards I have no
awards notice as it is still being processed from August 2007. I am now
borrowing money and have received a notice to quit (I have a rent rabate
form to hand though the council letterbox which I'll be able to do to day)Have been told that it may take 2 or 3 months to sort out as they do admit
I should be receiving £130.00 per week I have filled in a overpayments form
and sent it back but will that then a least give me the award Im due on a
weekly basis while they sort out what they should repay me and is it worth
seeking compensation for bank charges and interest lost on money they
owe me or do I have to go to my local tax office and seek interim payments
and get my MP and MSP involved
PS my earnings for 2006/7 = £4803.00
One child at school
No partner nor husband

Not sure if it is an editing problem, but your post is really difficult to read? x

  • thanks that advice is really helpful
  • Raise an official complaint in writing. If you dont get a decent outcome you can then make a complaint to the adjudicators office regarding the handling of your claim. Request that you are seeking compensation for financial hardship and financial loss. You may not get your bank charges back but you may be awarded compensation of some sort.
Unfortunately this isnt going to be a quick process but stick to your guns and keep going with the complaint. If possible always send the letters recorded delivery so that you have proof that they have been sent and delivered.

    nellsbells,

I made the comment because at present, you are really limiting your responses because people will find it so difficult to read.

If you look at other threads you will see that those that get the best responses, are those that are easiest to read.

Only trying to help, no need for sarcasm.

  • Hi Guys

I may have at last made some headway thanks to a lovely lady
    at the Galashiels Tax Office.
She has arranged for the differenence in what i should get paid
and what I,m getting paid to be paid via a giro.
We also went though all the awards I had been given and we
have together worked out that the customs and Excise owe me
£3300.00 but she cannot pay these arrears which date back too
    1/9/2006.
So now I have to calculate and prove telephone calls cost.
Plus bank charges which the bank has already printed out for
me since July 2007 to January 2008, so need to back and get
    the charges going further back.

My main question now is can I now invoice Tax Credits and charge
interest for nonpayment or late payment, with a time limit on it and
is it possible to take them to court.

And the interest charged should it be compound interest or not or
just interest on total amount due including out of pocket expenses
etc and at what rate of interest.

And finally i think , I'm compiling all the evidence with names and
team nos I've spoken too and handing it to my MSP (member of the
Scottish Parliment) but should I also hand the evidence for my MP
(member of the Westminster Government)too ?

Subsoniccoyote thanks for your encourgement from last week
