Digital Radio - Signal

Am contemplating buying a digital radio. However, not entirely sure it will work satisfactorily in my area - had to have a new aerial installed to be able to view "Freeview" channels and that works perfectly. However, what about a stand-alone DAB radio - will this also need an aerial if the digital signal here is not 100%?
Also will existing radios be phased out in the same way as analogue TVs?

Tap your postcode on the following link and you get a good idea whether you'll get reception

Go into a local dealer and ask for a demo of any sets he has in stock. Ask him will it work at your address ? Just because the map says "good reception" doesn't mean a lot.0
