Emails & crosses...

I received an email from my MIL with pictures in it, but they only show up as a X in a box. I use Incredimail. Does anyone know how I can see the images????

Thanks

Nothing if your happy with it carry on, I just use Outlook Express, or Opera's built in client or thunderbird, but if your ok with IM carry on

You should have seen the effort it took me to persuade my parents to move on from using Pegasus. Even back when they refused to change they'd still come to me complaining that their attachments, html emails etc weren't working.

My Dad is still on dial-up and is paying by the minute, he wont get BB as he says that lots of people will steal his PIN straight away and make off with his money.

Hes paranoid/old, aawwww hello Dad

At least now my mum uses Outlook and my dad just uses webmail, he has a work email address he uses more often anyway (through Groupwise). What's your dad doing typing his PIN in anyway? ;) Don't know anyone personally who's definitely been defrauded through online activity but I know people who've had their accounts cleared from real world contact (shop skimming, wallet theft, fake bank phone call etc). Ironically to your post my dad is one of the ones I know, had his wallet stolen (from his "high security" workplace) and he was phoned by the thieves pretending to be the bank. It's that type of social engineering I think you're far more likely to be a victim of than the hollywood style computer hacker.

Yeah totally agree, but isnt it funny how the computers that are featured in films are totally awful, The film the Core and I think the Computer Geek is using a naff dell laptop :rotfl: :rotfl:

And why does email in films sound a lot sexier in real life with all those sound effects

P.S My Dad dont know how it kinda all fits together ;)

And you tend to get some fancy flying envelope animated graphic for email. And also the mouse always seems redundant in films. For some reason absolutely everything is keyboard driven. "enhance that part of the image" "ok, I'll just type excessively as it's obviously faster than simply selecting it with the cursor". They also seem to build computers out of combustible and explosive material in films.

Was it just me that cringed when watching Die Hard 4 when the guy threw the alienware laptop on the floor? I couldn't help but think "Does he not realise how much that costs?!"
And then another point when one guy was wiring his laptop to the server, I couldn't help but think how unrealistic it was because he didn't put at least one cable in the wrong place...
Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.
