Can anyone comment if they have tried the US firmware with their UK LDP-600 -- ie. whether the FM transmit is accessible/works?Total for 2009: L'Oreal Lip Duo, Diary, Motability Guide
Thanks to everyone who post comps - you are all :cool2:0 -
I am just being stupid here - but surely if it is just an SD card, you can plug it into your Windows/Linux box and it will pop up as a new drive and you can drag whatever files you want onto it? I cannot see why you cant do it this way - and how this is any slower than a normal reader you plug into the usb port....
...as for the firmware updating, it seems Lexar have made an excellent cross-platform method of updating firmware, so big thumbs up to them and here's to a future of no more silly proprietary update programs!!
Edit:
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/Lexar/256MB+SD/Digital/Music/MP3/Player
In stock at £31.99 they state:
• FM Record to record FM broadcast to playback later
Looks like it broadcasts to FM?
Doesnt mention this being illegal in the UK. If it doesnt work as specified you can return it.0 -

What they mean is:
Feature "FM Record"
Purpose "to record FM broadcast (e.g. Martin on Radio 2) to playback (via headphones) later"0 -

Because you need an SD card reader built into your PC to do that, or buy a stand alone reader of some kind. If you try to write to it through the MP3 player itself it's slower we think, see above.0 -
The US version has a part number of: MPA256-231 so if the guy that works for morgan computers could check the box .. this would hopefully confirm it.0

Just had this reply form Lexar support..
Thank you for contacting Lexar.
We apologize for the inconvenience encountered while using our product.
From your mail we understand that you have doubt regarding version of ldp-600. (USA, UK)
There is no product (version) differences, that are being sold in USA and UK.
hmm.. so it seems the hardware is the same...0 -
Does this mean it's down to the firmware to enable the FM transmitter?
Strange that nothing is mentioned about this on their website or on google.0
