just fitted another carb to our old polo...ive set it up at 2% c/o on my gunson tester(not amazinlgy accurate i know)
anyway...it seems i could tune lower without causing any effects to the way it runs
whats a realistic mimimum c/o value that i could go for in the intrests of fuel economy and still have it running well
its a weber dmtr (replaces pierburg 2e3)

Should be able to do 1%.
TBH though, it only affects the idle and very light throttle - the jet sizes determine the c/o on acceleration.
You're not going to get a measurable difference between what you have now and if you set it any lower. If it's happy, leave it be. You'd get better economy by going on a course to teach you how to drive more economically as most people simply don't have a clue.0 -
right thanks...i might have a tinker with it anyway as i wanted to check its ok now its been ran a few weeks
yeah i get you about the main jets and waht not...lower idle c/o would mean less fuel used when idleing right?0 -
Ah, I remember having to deal with this with my old cars. Be careful not to lean the mixture out too much or you might find you get pinking on acceleration although the car might feel ok to drive.0
