How much money to take to LA?

Can anyone tell me how much money 2 adults should take to LA for one week. My hotel is already paid for, so I just need an idea of basic costs such as eating and public transport. We are planning to just do fastfoods. Any info will be appreciated.

It all depends what you want to do, if you want to do the theme parks then you will probably need more.
They accept debit cards in cash machines. For a week for two people though I would probably take £500.00 then obtain more from a cash point if needed.
You can always change the cash back if you don't spend it.
CC debt at 8/7/13 - £12,186.17
Barclaycard £11,027.58
Halifax £1,158.59

Hi an adult travel card is or was in 2006 anyway $3,50 for the day. This you can use to get to the themeparks.I found the tours ect a bit steep.Greyline tours were quite good.Theme park entry is aroung £50 each. It's cheaper than here to eat out.L.A is a lovely place and you may want to catch a coach to vegas for a couple of nights too!Enjoy.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0

When in the states I give myself a cash budget of about $40/day for moving about expenses, tips and food but I also have my credit card in case I want that something extra like a show, theme park or larger purchases.
I never use cash machines because of the charges imposed, I use my Nationwide CC which does not charge for foreign currency and can be used anywhere even for the smallest purchases.0
