The wireless part of it is just between your pc and the router. The router still needs to connect to the internet via either your cable internet connection, or your DSL connection. There are other methods of connecting to the internet, but cable and DSL are the most common in the UK.

Make sure it's your wireless network you're connecting to, and not a neighbour's.

Go into your network connection settings and make sure your router's told your PC what DNS server to use.

If you've not got a DNS server set, or you've got an invalid one set, you'll not be able to get to websites via their names. https://www.google.co.uk won't work, for instance, but the IP address of that server will. http://216.239.59.104/ will take you to google in this instance.

you can also try ping and traceroute to see where the problem lies. Try pinging and tracerouting the google IP.

The chances are your router's not connected to the net for some reason. Log into your router's control panel and take a look. Instructions for this vary from router to router, so check the manual. :)

Like I said, you might be connected to your wireless connection, but the other end of the wireless connection might not be connected to the net.

Did you try accessing google via its ip, tracerouting it and pinging it?

    no, it should not..

right click on the Toshiba wireless icon and see if there is an option to let windows manage the connection, it may say "Windows Zero Configuration" or WZC.You may need to double click on the Toshiba wireless icon and look around in the box that opens for an option to do this , or maybe untick a box that says "let toshiba manage" or something
