Does this mean that you don't get the films you want? Or you have a list and they send you whatever from the list?
In my experience with lovefilm, amazon and blockbuster, they all do this to some degree.
I find it helps to keep the list short, usually only have 10 titles on there, sometimes less. It works if you just have 1 DVD at a time.0 -
Lovefilm is buying Amazon's DVD rental setup, so...0

We have been using Amazon for over 12 months now. Rarely had a problem. Had a disc which never arrived, notified them, replacement despatched immediately. Never had trouble with any disc playing.
We also get most of the discs in the order we ask for them.
Its worth knowing you get 5% discount on all Dvd's purchased from their site lso.0 -

Just learned the news when logging into my Amazon DVD account. My initial reaction was:
LoveFilm: has Amazon gone stark, raving mad?
My second reaction was: obviously not. Amazon is as keen to take pots of money from one of the UK's sleaziest outfits as it is happy to line its pockets with income from the even sleazier VistaPrint operation.
LoveFilm though.
A track record of systematic deceit which this so-called company has also systematically attempted to pass off as mere administration hiccoughs.
And a track record which still involves paying out commissions to grubby little morons who then infiltrate as many legitimate web sites as possible with 'get your free iPod / free LCD TV' here: just sign up to LoveFilm.
These 'referrers' -- whose actions are encouraged by Lovefilm because it certainly makes no attempt to police them, or stop them -- even tried breaking into MSE, one such referrer inviting MSErs to click on a link and sign up to Lovefilm via the MSE link because Lovefilm would donate £10 for every sign-up to The Prince's Trust.
Was it true? Was it large ones.
The Prince's Trust knew nothing about any such Lovefilm 'donation' campaign.
Fortunately, the mods here were quick to kill the post and eject the poster -- but the whole thing was typical of the stink that attaches to Lovefilm.
After Martin's innocent mention of The Great Boots Voucher offer last year, and the chaos that ensued as a result of that, I'd hoped never to hear of Lovefilm ever again.
But no. Now Amazon (lying through its teeth) glibly states that it is selling to Lovefilm so as to ensure Amazon customers get even better customer service -- the equivalent of me advising General Custer and the 7th Cavalry that they're to be relocated from the fort to the Little Big Horn because the scenery's just so much better, darlilngs.
If only there was a way for the Monopolies Commission to block this deal.
It is not in the consumers' interest for Lovefilm to have so great a control of the UK DVD rentals market.
Ends rant
