Zanussi Washing Machine keeps breaking

I bought a Zanussi washing machine in September last year to replace a trusty Bosch washer that was years old and had finally died.
The Zanussi has been nothing but trouble. It keeps sticking mid-cycle. Sometimes it drains after a rinse then just stops. You think it's finished and open the door and everything is soaked as it hasn't spun. Sometimes it stops when it's got water in and I have to drain it manually.
Today it started making a horrible grinding noise while it was spinning. When it finished the cycle, I noticed the clothes were much wetter than normal, and they took longer to dry.
I've since tried the spin cycle on empty and it makes the horrible noise, and the drum doesn't go round easily if you push it with your hands.
I've had a poke around in the machine, and the rubbber door seal is very worn with holes in places. I suspect water has been getting into the machinery and caused a problem, but that's just my ill-informed guess!
Where do I stand with this? Can I ask for a refund or would I have to have a repair?
I'm fed up with this machine and would rather get another Bosch one if I can. I've got 3 children so a reliable washing machine is an essential to me.

Here I go again on my own....

hi
sorry to hear about your machine and problems you are having.
I have had a zanussi washing machine for 7 years and it has only had 1 new pump fitted, and i prefer that make as my mum had hers over 10 years thats why i chose zanussi.
I have had a bosch before and it only lasted me 3 years and the bearings went and bosch dishwasher for less then 2 years and that stopped working.
I would contact whoever you purchased it from as you have a one year manufacturing cover with most items for breakdown and see what they say.
Hope you get it working soon as it is a real pain without a good working machine.
take care0
