Buyer Unconfirmed Address

I have just sold an item for £48 inc postage but the seller has an unconfirmed address - only 11 feedback, but all good.

I am safe enough sending it via MH Direct couriers who use DHL

Thanks

  • Yes that should be fine.
I have sent a few items to unconfirmed addresses and as long as you send it signed for you should be ok.

    assuming Paypal then nope.
if you send it, you take a risk.
some items are at less risk. ie scammers rarely go after items such as books?
    Get some gorm.

    Why?

DHL track the parcel so should it not be ok?

You only get seller protection if you send to a confirmed address by a tracked method. If you just send by a tracked method you have no protection from PayPal, you have to meet all the criteria.

Please read and understand the paypal terms and conditions for seller protection before offering paypal as a payment method.

Only if you understand your liability can you decide how much risk to take.

For example I would happily use standard royal mail for my items up to £34 to any address (within reason) as in cases of non receipt I can reclaim from the Royal mail. For items over £34 I would want a confirmed address and would only use a online tracked service with a signature that is allowed by paypal. For me that is usually Special delivery. For online tracked despatches accepted by paypal see the sticky thread on helpful hints amd look at post 8.
