search for a .wav file and then double click on it.

If the media player comes up then you probably have some driver installed, and then I'd check that (a) the speakers are in the correct hole and are working (b) in device manager the Soiunds... is enabled and ok (c) the sound was on in the system tray (d) volume is turned up (e) mixer and items not on mute

If the mixer does not come up, or you have done the above, I'd download new sound drivers.

Not sure about your speakers, use headphones/ear buds
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)
  • Which model of dell is it? I can search Dell website and show u where to download the latest drivers.

Its probably gonna be Sigmatel or similar
