Can someone get my email address from ebay?

I listed an item for sale and was asked a question. I responded to this question and waited for the person to get back to me. They did by sending my an email to my email address that i have listed with ebay. I was under the impression that ebay did not give out my email address and if this is correct i wondered if anybody had any ideas on how they got my email address as i didnt give it out. Many thanks

How did you respond? Did you just press reply using your e-mail client or did you use the yellow reply button provided by ebay? If using the ebay yellow reply button then your e-mail address is not shared, but if you replied using your e-mail client then you are essentially cutting out ebay and responding directly and therefore sharing your e-mail address.0

The person you are talking to does not have your email, its just ebay send your messages to your e-mail address.0

When you replied, did you tick the box saying 'Hide my email address'?
If not they can see the email this way.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Either way, from 7 years of ebay trading my e-mail has never been abused from a buyer or seller. So you have nothing to worry about.0

I responded in my messages with the yellow button which says respond now. I may be being thick here but i cannot see a box which says hide my email address. All that i saw was a box saying did i want to send a copy to my email address.0
