Bloomin South West Electric

Options
this might be better on Vent i don't know. Just had some right lying prat at the door.

" Hello, i'm from SW Electric and (looks at pad), i'm pleased to tell you that you've qualified for a reduction in your electric bill "

me: "Oh really. Why is that, i'm not one of your customers?"

him: "that isn't a problem be...<cut him off>"

me "how can you offer me a discount on my bill when you work for a different supplier. How do i qualify? "

him "its...its... just houses in this area, look at my badge, you can ring and check my credentials if you like. I'm an Area Manager"

me: "You're not my Area Manager. So you're not offering me a reduction on my bill. Are you asking to change my bill altogether and move me to a new service supplier?"

him : "which number is this house?"

me: "what??? how do you know i've qualified for a bill reduction if you don't know what house this is?"

him: "we can offer you better rates and save you money?"

me "how do you know that, you dont know what i'm paying already?"

him "we can better any current deal"

me: "ok, if you split your commission with me"

him : "<silence>.......what?....no, i'm not allowed to do that <chuckle> ?"

me: "but you're allowed to pretend that you're offering me a discount on my bill when you're really trying to get me to change suppliers. Did you try that with the old man next door?"

him "no"

me: "Come on, we'll go and ask him then. i saw you walk down his path"

him "no"

me: "hmmmmm ok. You see this sticker on the doorframe right here. It says we don't buy anything at the door. Did you just think you could ignore it and try and bluff me?"

him: "no of course not"

me: "Yes you bleddy well did. I think you'd better be going now"

him : "ok"

Luckily the old fella next door wasn't in, but how can these complete <snip profanity> get away with lying like that? We all know elderly friends/relatives who could get sucked in by this, more due to confusion and not being told the truth. Makes my blood boil.

I bet you enjoyed that conversation!
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

Most the time they are not lying though....

Companies often give people over inflated job titles - when I worked in the call centre for a supermarket I was a Customer Service Manager (but in any other call centre I would have been called at most a senior advisor for the level of authority I had) but the idea was that an advisor in the store could pass a customer to us saying they were passing them to a CSM if their own store based CSM was unavailable

If they are not the original supplier for your area then they can charge what ever they like (when I worked for an Electricity/ gas company - again call centre the original supplier in the area had their prices regulated, there was talk of that changing but I dont know if it was) and therefore they can agree to a rate lower than you are currently paying (what ever that is) but of cause there is the question of how long the lower price will last before you revert to their standard rate for your area.

I also send them away but I wouldnt naturally assume that anything he said was actually wrong.
