That device doesn't have an integrated modem, so unless you already have an ADSL modem or intend to buy one, you won't be able to connect to the internet with it.
Better to look at Wireless ADSL/Broadband Modem Routers:

Better off with the Netgear DG834G (v2) or DG834GT which is essentially the same as the model you are looking at but has the ADSL modem built in.
The MR814 only has network ports on so you couldn't directly connect your ADSL modem to it. You would still have to connect it to a PC and dial a connection.
Amazon are often the cheapest for the 834 models and quite often you get a free wireless USB2.0 adapter (Ebuyer have this offer on with the DG834GT).Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

Mosey on over to http://www.adslguide.org/ , they have lots of reviews of ADSL modems and routers.
One thing you need to be aware of is that NOT ALL OF THEM WORK WITH AOL. I think the above site will help you out with this.
There are also instructions there for setting up and configuring.
Finally, if you camp around Ebay for a couple of weeks, you should be able to get a real bargain. I got a brand new £80 router and a £20 wireless PCI card for £65 inc postage by being patient.0 -

Virtually all of them work with AOL, it's just AOL only support certain models. I've installed generic Connexant based ADSL routers on AOL broadband.
You just need to set the MTU quite low (1400 - might be wrong with the exact value as this is just off the top of my head) or not all sites will work due to packet fragmentation. It's best to set the MTU on both the router and the PC's. It's easy to do on the PC's using DrTCP.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

I would buy it from PCworld using their Collect@Store facility to get web prices and pick it up from your local store to save delivery costs. Their prices are actually very competitive on this kind of product and if anything goes wrong it will be much easier to take back than somewhere like ebuyer.
This ozenda router is on multiple magazines best buy lists and includes an inbuilt ADSL modem.

Check www.adslguide.org.uk and it's forums for people's experiences with Ozenda equipment.
I know PC World do a bundle with a Buffalo router at the moment. Buffalo kit is usually good and gets quite a number of recommendations at Adslguide.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

I recently brought the netgear dg834g and was amazed at how easy it was to set up. It only took about 5 mouse clicks (as stated on the box), which i found hard to believe but so true. I have two pc using ethernet and a wireless laptop and have had no major problems with it. There online support is good too, as the connection did drop ocassionally but their advice sort this out first time and i've remained connect ever since 100+ hrs and counting. Hope this helps.0
