windows xp login problem help please

i had applied the winxp activation patch . now my windows won't start :eek:
i get the following message:
SAS windows: winlogon.exe - application error
the exception single step
a single step & trace operation has just been completed.
(0x80000004) occurred in the application at location 0x00000000.
any one can advise me how i can uninstall this using my drive connected to an ide, or how i can get my windows back to login screen, same problem in safe mode and i cannot do system restore please help

Do a system restore in command prompt before windows attempts to load up.
