Tips for Sopot, Poland?!

We got married in Gdansk 10 years ago and would like to take our two children there this summer.
Can anyone recommend accomodation in Sopot near the beach for 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 7).

Thanks for your reply.
I think we'd go mad in a hotel due to lack of space so some kind of apartment would be best. It doesn't need to be dirt cheap as it'll be our only holiday. Also need to be walking distance from the beach.

I've just come back from Sopot and the Tri City.

We have an apartment in the Orlowo district of Gdynia. 20 mins walk to Sopot beach and 2 mins walk to Orlowo beach and pier.

The apartment is very big, approx 120 metres squared with it's own large terrace.

Sopot, Gdansk and Gdynia are beautiful places.

Do you recommend the apartment, do you have a link to it? What was the area like and can you give me an idea of cost?!

Orlowo is considered to be a more upmarket district of Gdynia. The apartment is located just a few minutes walk to Orlowo beach. I don't have any kids but I guess in terms of safety it scores well as there are no busy roads between the apartment and the beach (the beach acts as a natural cul de sac )

10 mins walk away is the Kliff Shopping centre. A really, nice elegant centre with plenty of clothes shops, cafes, and a large supermarket.

I was only there last Sunday (seems like ages ago now).

You can actually reach Sopot from the apartment by walking on the beach. It will probably be about a 40 minute walk as walking on sand can be hard work. I only managed 25 mins last week and I was knackered. Running parallel with the beach is a walking path which obviously helps to cut the walking time down.

One thing I should mention though and you are probably aware of this anyway. Polish coastal resorts are not like British ones. They don't have amusement arcades lining the streets or pleasure parks etc. As you mentioned you are taking your kids I just wanted you to be aware of this.

There are still plenty things for kids to do. The zoo at Gdansk Oliwa, the Crooked House on Sopot, the Aqua Park at Sopot, even a cruise on a pirate ship caught from Gdansk Old Town.
