Getting A Refund For The Same Flight

Hi Guys, I Recently Booked A Holiday To Kenya With A Local Travel Agent. The Tickets Cost £550, I've Just Found The Same Flight On-line For £359. I Know In America You Can Get A Refund For The Difference In Price, But Is That Possible In The U.K. And If So How Do You Go About It.
Any Help Given Will Be Much Appreciated
Thanks

...... is to make them feel guilty. You have no right to a refund.0

I don't think you can get a refund in America either.
Some US airlines advertise that if you can find the same flights cheaper - in a given timescale - they will refund the diference. However I don't think that is covered by legislation.
Charter flights in UK often charge, say £600+ for flights to USA booking well in advance. If you take the chance and wait until the last minute you sometimes can get the same flights for £150 or less.0 -
have you read the contract and seen if you get anything back if you cancel?
If not then it's up to the goodwill of the first company which these days will be sadly lacking0 -
Part of the problem is the way that many holiday companies 'play around' with prices. They seem to offer a few cheap seats to get peoples attention - but sometimes I am convinced they do NOT release all seats at once. They seem to release them in batches and they push for the highest price possible and then bring it down (and release more seats) as soon as sales seem to slow down (a saw-tooth effect).
As others have said check with your original TA to see if they can do anything otherwise see how much it would cost to cancel and rebook. However be careful, if you cancel your tickets first it does not guarantee you will get the lower priced tickets ... or any tickets at all (I know someone who lost their holiday by trying this).
In America many people advertise that they will match/beat any other price but the way they run travel agancies over there is totally different. Many are no more than someone working from a computer at home. I have talked to a couple of people who booked holidays using an American TA and they were very pleased. Rather than them having to monitor prices the TA would check up on the price on a regular basis and, if it had come down, the TA would get them a refund, a room credit or an upgrade ... can you imagine our TAs doing this ... yea right.
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Thanks To You All For Your Help, The Tickets Can't Be Cancelled And The Agent Is A !!!!!! For Trying To Help Out, He Doesn't Want To Get His Backside Off His Chair And Do Something, Goodwill Is Not In His Vocabulary, So I'll Save Myself The Hassle And Take It As A Lesson Learnt, Be A Bit Braver Next Time And Wait A Bit Longer Before Getting A Ticket.
Thank You Again.0 -
let's put it this way, if you cancel he loses his payment0
