Credit Card Company's Grrrrrr

My 0% deal with barclaycard is coming to a end, with £600 of debt left I applied for a Natwest Card hoping to shift the debt to them. Just received my card & Credit limit, I have only been given £400 Limit.

Why would I have such a low limit considering I have a Barclaycard with £2100, had a virgin card with a £3000 Limit, but cancelled it after a few months without using it at all.

good question...i've got a 10k limit with barclaycard and 8k with MBNA.
the last couple of cards i applied for was only offered 2.5k & 3k.
i've no idea why that was.
i've sent off for my credit reports and discovered that there had been too many searches.
i'd applied for a few cards, mortgage, i'd paid my car insurance in stalments which resulted in a search and a new mobile fone contract.
maybe worth getting ur report to check.

yeah i got my report last month, since then I have applied for natwest card, accepted, also applied for mortgage, agreed in principle, should have final decision by end of the week, suppose this could have effected it.

Once I have my mortgage & my new house, I suppose they will be falling over themselves to give me cards, just dont wanna pay any interest to the credit card companies

Well I just called my credit card company, they say my low credit limit is due to the fact I am a new customer!!!! Dont believe that but never mind, they did offer to up my limit to £500 which helps me out quite a bit :j
