My thoughts are that if you've already booked and paid for them I wouldn't worry about it, as you can't do anything if people say no.

But if you were to push me - London to Orlando taxes are almost £200pp, making £1000, meaning you got 5 seats for £700.

I know it's not that simple, but it's a good way to see it!

    Hi there

I've flown several times with VA & BA LGW to MCO and I don't see any difference between the two airlines to be honest. I've found the service on BA better than VA on occasion and vice versa. I simply book with the cheapest!

There are still packs for the kids and seat back TVs with BA, as well as Twilight check in at LGW (if that matters to you) :)

The only nice thing with VA that you don't get with BA is the Downtown Disney check in, but no way is it worth the £700 you've saved.

    I think you've got a great price.
  • I would say that is a very good price.

Airlines know that Florida is very popular so know they don't have to discount much to fill a plane.

    Enjoy!

Yes, its in the North Terminal (BA) and we found it VERY quiet compared to Virgin which was a good thing. No queues at all! They don't seem to advertise it like Virgin do? We definitely had seatback TVs on BA when we last flew with them (Aug 06)

  • You got a very good deal!

Ive just posted on a similar topic. This weekend there was a problem on expedia's computer system - meaning their flights were cheaper than they should have been. They corrected it this morning. BA's website has a price promise meaning its very unlikely they will be beaten on most deals.

If you check your flights on expedia again today they wont be the same price - expedia now showing 2320 for 2 adults 3 children to mco having a rough look in september.

I booked a couple flights myself on expedia last night that were 508 and this morning they corrected the error and put them up to 1866 (!). Im hoping that expedia honour the mistake and dont cancel our bookings.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what is twilight checkin?

I'm flying BA to Orlando (well, actually to Atlanta, Georgia as it was much cheaper) from Gatwick in August and it sounds like a way of beating airport queues?

With twilight check in you check in the day before (Virgin is open 12pm to 8pm) and you leave your cases get your tickets and everything and just arrive the next day and go straight through. We just stayed in a B&B overnight and then got a taxi to the airport and it saved the hassle of travelling to the airport and checking in the day we flew as we would have had to get through rush hour on the M25 - not good at the best of times!!

Here is the link with more details from Virgin website:

    http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/info/important/latest_travel_updates/pages/twilight_check-in.aspx

Edit: The B&B we stayed in and parked the car at was the same price as parking at Gatwick for 2 weeks so it was OK, plus we had a nice breakfast to start the day.

Thanks, Blue Monkey. That sounds quite interesting. I was going to check-in online with BA anyway and then just bag-drop on the day. It sounds very similar, with the advantage of no bags on the day of travel.

I only live about 30 mins from Gatwick so wouldn't need to B&B or anything.
