Advice on selling a domain name?

Hi Folks,
I'm the owner of a domain name that I think might net me a nice tidy sum of money if I were to sell it.
I'm wondering if anyone can provide me with some advice on how to best do this.
Should I offer it for sale directly to the company concerned or put it up for auction somewhere?

If the company already have a well established website, they probably won't be interested in buying a similar domain. the days of panic buying every website that came close to yours are well and truly over. By the same token, if they don't have a website, then they probably won't need/want one.
You could have a look at some of the domain name auction sites, but TBH I've seen some pretty good names sitting there without takers. You could of course get lucky. I would approach the company in question first, and if they're not interested, then consider the auction.I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.
