Hi,

  • All depends on make, model, resolution, yada, yada. If you are looking to buy one, then I'm sure there are quite a few people on here who will be happy to let you know about their own models.

My friend just purchased one of these a few weeks back and its very good, as good as my DV camera. I would stay clear of the cheap one's often they don't come with a good lens and no optical zoom.

My friends camera also has a good 3.2 megapixcel still camera

He's just got his son to take it to Mexico as we speak.

Yes they are good on tv seen it on a 32" widescreen. The picture is 4.3 as most cameras are, so is very slightly cropped.

I cant remember the spec of the Aldi one but I bet the zoom isn't all that good and also I know it don't come with a memory card which will add another £20.

Honestly that mpeg4 camera I mentioned above is really good I was well surprised given that I am a avid photographer.

My mate recently got a 5mega pixcel Fuji camera and he says he wish he hadn't bought that even though its good the Sanyo is better than his Fuji as for some strange reason his Blue Ford doesn't quite pick up the colour right yet the Sanyo does.

If I hadn't got a DV camera early this year I would go for a Sanyo I am tempted myself as its so small and really handy to put in your pocket.

I have owned a Sanyo Xacti C4 since january and I can thoroughly recomend them.

They are small, light, easy to use and the recording quality is excellent.
Transferring the video to your pc is extremely easy thanks to the supplied dock and the stills pictures are excellent (4 mega pixels)

I have a 1 gb SD card in mine and that gives over 750 stills pictures at best quality or 1 hour of video recording, or a combination of the two.

I got mine from ebay as they are still quite expensive in the shops over here.
The new C5 costs around £480 from the internet. This can be dropped to around £300 on ebay.

    Good luck with the hunt
