dunno about free but www.mp3search.ru is legal (Russia passed a law on grey sites apparently) and you can download albums from as little as 80p0

SG-is that site totally legit with regards to giving them your bank details and viruses?0

I don't know about downloading. Personally, I use iTunes to rip CDs. You can also buy music through iTunes, but its not as cheap as 80p per album!

as far as i know it is. I read about it rather than finding it on the net and signing up. It's a secure site, i've downloaded from there and not had any problems.0 -
with regards to payment through these russain download sites can you deposit your money through paypal? On allofmp3 payment section it does say paypal is accepted, yet on home page it doesnt mention paypal as a payment method. Or is the normal credit card the way to go?0

Try looking over Creative Commons listed sites such as Magnatune. Again, they're not free, but prices are still better than what you'd find in the shops.
Regarding the likelihood of having your computer infected by a virus, the risk is pretty much minimal so long as you stay away from P2P (peer-to-peer) filesharing networks and sites offering 'free' music from big-name artists.0 -

It costs $10 per month for 10 gigs a month, I have never had any problems with them but there is a lot of adult content on the piccie side of the site, there is a daily update of several tens of thousands of tracks, and it is in the USAThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Is anyone aware of a site, https://www.shareaza.co.uk or com. From what I've been told, it allows free music downloads. Anyone know different?0
