HM Armed Forces Lapel Badge

This may be the totally wrong place to put this so please move to correct location, also I have done a search and never found anything, but if there is I do apologise......

This is a free Veterans lapel badge for all Men and women who Served in HM Armed Forces before and/or during World War II.

Service after World War II
Men and Women who enlisted in HM Armed Forces between 3 September 1945 and 31 December 1994 are entitled to a Veterans Badge. There is no qualifying length of Service.

I phoned up on a free phone number 0800 169 22 77 for one for my father, they require their name, rank, service number. national insurance number and address, and contact telephone number, or you can fill in the form on line.


There is also a UK Merchant Seafarers Veterans Badge

    To add to the collection, any one served in Malaysia during the Indonesian confrontation Aug 1957 to Aug 1966?

    "The Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM) is a commemorative medal which the Government of Malaysia would like to award to eligible British citizens, for their service in Malaya or Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, between 31 August 1957 and 12 August 1966"

    "This medal is awarded to the peacekeeping groups amongst the communion countries for distinguished chivalry, gallantry, sacrifice or loyalty in upholding peninsular of Malaysia sovereignty during the period of emergency and confrontation"

    Depends when he served, but posthumous are allowed, when I collected mine a young lad was collecting one for his late grandad

    Just to say I applied for this on the 26th Jan, and I rec'd it today.
    Its a nice little badge, comes with presentation box, and certificate.
    Really nice for a veteran to wear

    I will wear my badge with pride, on Remembrance Day.

    So if she was in forces then yes

  • My Dad had special service in the 50's so Ive forwarded him the details, thanks so much OP, he never received his sports medals (I think it was sports medals!!!) at the time due to Mr Castro and his timing!!!! (He doesnt really talk about it much so Im going on a creaky memory of the last time he mentioned it hahaha)

    thanks for posting this its important to recognise what our elders did..... my grandad got his last year, he's 94 it was a long time ago BUT he was soooo chuffed!!
    2010 - nothing as we emigrated to Australia!!! :j
