  • Does anyone know if these programs are able to keep track of your accounts automatically by logging in via internet banking or do you have to update the system manually?

In my experience manually, I'm not sure if any of the UK banks have those automatic facilities. And now that Money and Quicken are no longer developed in Europe I doubt there's much incentive for the banks to add those facilities. Every account I have, at best allows you to download the statements in a suitable format to be imported/opened in the appropriate program. Not quite automatic/real time.

  • Ok. I did download a trial version of Money and I did get the impression that automatic download was a possibility but I couldn't even find Barclays Bank on the list of compatable banks.

I think it works with some banks, but I personally would want something automaticed, could turn into a security risk

Especially with a program that is no longer updated, I'd rather use something I know they're always working on possible security updates for.
