Hi I was thinking of buying my DF a HD DVD player for his XBOX but Argos has two:

the player
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0642183/Trail/searchtext%3EHD+DVD+.htm

and the drive

can someone please tell me what the difference is and is it worth it?

thanks

Is it worth it ?? No, sell the 360 and buy a Playstation 3 :D

Seriously, it is the same product, unless the one listed cheaper hasn't got the extra USB ports. I'd get them both to the desk and check the Microsoft spec and part no. on the boxes. I suspect you will find they are the same, and it's a !!!!-up on Argos' part. It'll only be any good if you've got a HD telly to play it through, and you will need an HDMI lead to plug it in to the HD telly.

Oh, and unless you are willing to fork out the extortionate prices for HD-spec DVDs......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
