i have applied for a virgin credit card to balance transfer a 0% card that is due for ending mid feb.
i was declined point blank saying they didnt feel i couldnt meet there requirements
now i have been employed by the same company for 20 years
pay every bill on time and cant remeber in the last 10 years when i have been overdrawn
the only reason i can think of i had an old mbna card and i phoned them first to see what offers they had on and they were no offers at the time but they did keep me on the phone for ten mins asking a dozen questions before they offered me a ridicoulous rate
i know there the same group but this seems a little extreme if they turned me down because i requested a balance transfer from a precvious card
anybody shed any light or advice on this matter
thanks in advance

When you say refused point blank... is that after an appeal? They will most likely have an appeals process (usually has to be done in writing) so you could go down that route if you wanted to, just ask them how to do this.
Have you got a copy of your own credit report to make sure it's all correct on there etc? A copy of this could help you appeal if it's all correct and in good order.
If both of these things have been done and you've still been declined then you could try applying for another card, but not too many within a short period of time.0
