Mastercard or Visa?

Hi folks. I currently have 3 credit cards i use for day to day spending as they benefit me in one way or another, cashback etc. The 2 main ones i use are Visa branded. I was considering closing the 3rd card which is Mastercard as i rarely use it & want to reduce my available credit on my credit file. My only concern stopping me at the moment from doing this is that i'm thinking is it best to have a Visa & Mastercard available incase one isn't accepted somewhere or one of them have problems or am i just worryng about nothing & can go ahead & close the Mastercard.

I think Visa is pretty much accepted everywhere that accepts credit cards.

Thanks. Somebody was saying that Visa are European & Mastercard are American.
Do you know if theres any truth in that?
