.NET update problem

Windows update has downloaded a .NET update but I can't get it to install. It goes through the process for some minutes, and then always fails. I get the message saying this update was not installed:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806)

I followed the official advice from the Microsoft site and uninstalled all the .NET items, re-booted and then re-installed. But it hasn't helped.

Any ideas please?

  • I've had the same installing 3.5, I did all the stuff suggested on the microsoft site, but gave up. So I can't help any more than to say you are far from alone.
