Hi,
Can anyone point in the direction of some graphics freeware for my 9 yr old daughter. Unsurprisingly she finds Gimp and Photoshop a bit much, but shows an emerging talent. I think if there is a cut down version of the above kicking about it would help her get the hang of it.
Thanks
Zahc

Prob not for her age, but you could try getpaint.net0

Not actually tried any of these, but they look to be meant to be simple to use:
Tux Paint
KolourPaint
Krita
XPaint
They are all open source packages, so should be free from adware/spyware.0 -
I'd highly recommend ArtRage theres a freeware version called starte edition that is very different it traditional computer graphics packages. It simulates using brushes and chalks etc. If you've got one it works very well with a graphics tablet for freehand drawing.
It's a difficult app to describe but when you use a paint brush for instance you have to keep reloading it and if you paint over an area that's alredy painted the paints blend. It's a sort of digital simulation of real painting. Both of my children love using it.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Thanks all, I'll give them a go. Art rage sounds reaaly good .........0

I note that Artrage comes free with the Wacom Graphics tablets. Amazon sell a nice range and as my daughter has been askng about this I going to get one. Thanks for the tip :T0 -
Definitely Photofiltre - plenty of places to download it, e.g. http://photofiltre.en.softonic.com/ - there's a review there as well0
