Would that work with me being out at work all day? I mean, are you in loco parentis, or are they old enough to be latch key?

  • Hi everyone :)

Yesterday was an expensive day, because I went grocery shopping, but I spent really well and I'll not need to do much in the way of shopping for a couple of weeks now, and I shouldn't exceed my £50 budget either (plus I've finally got a £2 coin for saving! :D).

And I've been looking through my things this weekend and I've listed 17 books on Amazon and I'm going to add some DVDs that I've only watched once tommorrow. The books are kind of specialised hobbist ones, so they'll probably take a while to sell but even listing them at the lowest price, they'd net me a reasonable amount :D. I'm pretty sure there's a lot more I got sell, too - gain space and money, which has to be great!

Today I got called in to do some more hours at work (which isn't usual, but does occassionally happen), and normally I'd just claim that as flexi time, but I'm going to put in for the overtime. I'll not get it until my March pay check, but it'll be about £50 so *yay* :D.

I'm off to the bank to sort out those DD transaction numbers and hopefully get rid of the domestic and general payment, and get my % for the credit card tommorrow so onwards and upwards, right?

I'm really hoping things sell though, there's a gig in London at the start of May that I really really want to go to - and I can stay with a friend, travel on the evil mega bus and it should cost me about £27 all in and I figure if I can make that through selling some stuff I can justify going.

    Your doing realy good!

Just a quickie, have you looked around at mobile tariffs. Could your £35 be chopped into a tiny little bill?.....

Have a bash at the specialist DVD's..... You would be supprised what sells on Ebay and you might find a handy way to make money on a permanent basis with a supplier........ Worth a try and could net you a few more ££££'s to play with:D

Cheers! :) I'm sure my mobile bill could come down, I'm on a contract but the 18mos is either up this month or next, so I should be able to re-negotiate it - I'll go and check out Martin's article on it before bed :).

I'm really excited about selling my stuff! I've been looking at my CDs and DVD and all sorts and there are so many I've barely looked at since I got them - they're taking up space and I could turn that to cash! :D

  • Morning anyone who's reading :).

Having been all humphish about being called into work yesterday, I'm now really quite pleased because I've just put in my OT and Oncall claims and I should clear about £170 after tax (I got to claim oncall for the full 48 hours. yay), either in Feb or March's payroll. :D

That's going straight to my cc bill - which is a nice big wodge off it that I wasn't expecting.

I brought in the cuppa soup and oatcakes I bought (for much cheapness) in Farmfoods on Saturday and they're now in my desk drawer and will be lunch for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I've got a bit of cheese spread in the work fridge that I'll need to replenish on thurs or frid with something - maybe peanut butter? - but other than that and the pint of milk I buy for my cereal on a monday (for all week) I should be no spend for work for 13 days :D.

I also remembered my travel mug and had coffee-brought-from-home on the train this morning, which was an awesome way to start the day! (and over my coffee I had a good think about where I might look for more things to sell :D - this may be my new black...).

I'm very fired up today, I'll see how it goes at the bank on the way home but I figure I'm enthusiastic because it's new so I might as well take advantage of the enthusiasm to blast away at my debts as much as possible so they'll be that much smaller when I get to the whiny "but I don't wanna" stage :D.

  • More for my own records than anything else....

Went to the bank on the way home, didn't get the address and things sorted for the other credit card as I needed both my passport and proof of my address to get that registered, but I did get the dd transaction number for the Domestic and General charge and YAY I've got it cancelled now and they're refunding this month's payment too :).
