Hi
My mac froze and had to turn it off by keeping the on button pressed.
When I try to switch it back on the system fails to start and all I get is a blank screen.
I know one of my colleagues at work said these types of macs are prone to this, and suggested I just try to turn it on and off until I get lucky and the system starts.
What would you suggest I do?

Boot onto the OS X DVD which came with the machine, and run the repair disk/permissions from there.0
