Boxing in an unsightly fuse box..

Going to make a little wooden cupboard to cover it up.

Question is, is there any fire risk/health & safety withthis. Is it safe to box the consumer unit jn?

Not an expert answer, but my carpenter is boxing one in for me next week in MDF. He said he does lots of them, didn't mention any hazards and he is very reputable!

The only 'Risk' as such is if the lights went out, if the cu is covered could you get in to turn them back on.

So therefore it's absolutely fine to box in a cu.
