if you have the old version, I think updates have been discontinued, and you have to download the latest version (ad-aware 2007)

Oh blummin heck I downloaded that one before and I really didn't like the new version at all so went back to this one. That was some months ago though, I hope they have improved it since then if I do have to get the new oneThanx

I had a similar problem with my wife's laptop earlier this week. She hadn't updated in about a year (!!!) and whenever I tried to update it actually caused her PC to crash.
Eventually I uninstalled it and reinstalled the latest version (Ad Aware 2007) which fixed it immediately.0 -

Same here, 2007 was really resource hungry. I've ditched it completely & use a SuperAntiSpyware, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard & Spybot S&D combination to keep things clean.Time is a concept of relativity, yet as a concept, relativity is timeless.0 -
I was going to post about this but can I ask another question?
Can anyone suggest a program to replace Adaware 1.06 on a Win98se machine?
2007 is not compatible, it already has SpyBot .Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Just wanted to say that I found I could get the update file from download.com and put it in manually. After trying the newer version before and uninstalling it to go back to the adaware se personal I really do prefer to update manually till I can decide what to swap to.
It just means it wont update within the program, but I really disliked the new one so I'll do it. I use spybot aswell anyway but whatever I put on I don't want it interfering with cashback tracking and I know some can.Thanx

SuperAntiSpyware is excellent, powerful and free. I just googled it after I heard about it and downloaded it
I update it every day. However I don't know if it works with 98.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Just checked the help file for SuperAntiSpyware.
It works on Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, Vista & 2003.

Cheers for that, I use it myself but could have sworn it didn't work with win98.
Hence the reason for asking the question.Move along, nothing to see.0
