Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm here suffering greatly from sciatica for the first time and am desparate to get some relief.

When sitting it's very uncomfortable...when standing it's agonsing, so much so that after only a couple of minutes I have to either sit down or be sick through the pain. Can't believe all this agony when all I was doing was putting my socks on...day 4 and I am so tearful, can't walk, can't sleep.

Have read this thread but wondered what the different was between physiotherapist, chiropractor and osteopath? Am getting a DSE assessment done at work to sort out posture, as that is bad, but need something else...painkillers and heat packs aren't doing a thing, and the other advice - lie flat on your back - is the most painful thing ever.

  • Physiotherapist, i think deal mainly in exercises but could be wrong.
    Chiropractor, manipulation of bones.
    Osteopath, does bones and muscle.
If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.
