Hi can someone tell me what is the best way to connect my laptop to my lcd tv thanks

That will depend on the type of connectors on the laptop and the TV. If the latter has a standard 15-pin (normally blue) VGA connector then a normal VGA monitor lead will do the trick, and the quality should be fine.
Otherwise you might need to use S-Video (looks a bit like a PS/2 mouse connector, often coloured yellow), but the quality probably won't be as good.0
