Whole market, free mortgage advisor rec's??

Seems to be a lack of recommendations for mortgage advisors on this forum, surprisingly!

Need some advice, anybody got any recommendations for a fee-free whole of market advisor??

Our case is nothing complicated, and we have a good credit history. We live in Cumbria tho', so might need to be "over the phone".

TIA!
Andy

I understand your second point, but not your first! Why wouldn't someone pass on a good experience of a mortgage advisor, on a "mortgage and endowment" forum?

If any of you advisors reading this want to message me, please do...

Its against board rules for mortgage advisers to recommend other mortgage advisers. doesnt stop consumers but there is often doubt when a 1 post wonder comes on and posts a recommendation.

Plus the vast majority are fine. Its only a small minority you have to be aware of.

May I suggest you read some of the threads and then PM an adviser that you think you might want to work with

( Note in interest of fairness, my workload , my tax return, please don't PM me)

Indeed here is a link to the code of conduct that explains how the advisors on the board should work:

Excellent! 4 mortgage advisors have replied to my thread. Oh, hang on... they're all telling me how they can't help me.

Wait a minute, surely I'll have received some messages? lets look... no none.

    Ah well, thanks guys.

3 mortgage advisers and 1 IFA. I dont do mortgages so cant help you. Dont assume IFAs do mortgages as an increasing number dont and personally, I would use a mortgage adviser over an IFA for mortgage business.

Actually, that's really encouraging to know that none of them PMed you. I think it was a bit unfair to ask because the decent ones won't. Backs up what they say about not touting for business, though. I think it shows either a) respect (for this site) and restraint and/or b) they are already over-worked. Personally, I'm not sure I'd trust one that did PM you to offer their services because it would imply that neither of those applied. I'm sure if you took the lead and PMed any of them, they'd be more than helpful. I'm sure between themselves they will know who is most local/able to help you.

Charming. Just the sort of client I'd rather not deal with.
