Scam?? Holiday To Florida & Bahamas??

Options
I just had a phone call, one where they ring you -answered it, said hello, no answer, then a recorded voice message kicks in- all i heard was 'congratulations you have won a free holiday to florida and bahamas, so i immediately hang up, then pick up the phone to dial 1471, to find that they are still on the phone, giving the same speech about winning a holiday- bit baffled as to how they got my number, never give the number out, are ex directory & registered with TPS- Just so you know!!!
Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!

And you will be asked to pay various "administration fees" and other extras which means it's not a free holiday. It will end up to be more expensive than if you bought the same holiday from a travel agent.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I can see the previous posts are over two years old, but I've just been called by probably the same scammers, so they're either back or still in business.

A recorded male voice, in a very American accent, told me that I had been selected to receive a free holiday package to Florida and the Bahamas and I needed to press 9 to get more information. I didn't believe a word but pressed 9 to see what happens as it didn't cost me anything. Then a live male voice (again in very American accent) asked whom he was speaking to. I answered with a question 'Whom did you call?' when after a few second of thinking he hung up. I thought if I was selected then at least they should have known whom they were speaking to.

So be careful. Unless you remember specifically to have entered into competitions never respond to these calls.

Remember, if your win is genuine, they will never ask you to
    - give your personal details, as they should already know about them.
    - call premium rate numbers
    - pay admin fees

A win is a win, it should be completely free.
