Dcm Money (dcm Apex)

I used dcm over 5 years ago to help me out of debt problems on a scheme they called "The good 60", basically they promised that I would be out of debt within 60months on their programme. I was paying a management fee but i suffered that for their help.
guess what happened next? 60 months comes along and I get a letter saying 'sorry, we can't keep to our promise because of changing attitudes towards debt, oh and by the way look in the small print where it gives us a get-out clause'!! They also added that they could continue to manage my creditors if I wanted and they were busy negotiating on my behalf, twaddle, I've done more myself in half an hour than they have done in 6months.
All I'm saying is BEWARE of this & simmilar companies. I'm going now to my anti-naivety course!!

Unfortunately, paying someone to help you get out of debt is rarely going to be the most cost effective plan, it's just a shame that they target people who really need help and advice, not ripping off by another lender!

I would suggest you try CAB for advice on dealing with debts - they ususally have some sounds advice for anyone who isn't sure where to start, but hopefully this thread will be a good warning to anyone who was considering it! This site should save you enough to make it worth your while posting on here - good luck!

    Hi,

We have been with apex dcm for 6 years' now. For the first 3/4 years we could not pay required amount but never missed a payment and when we could afford it, we increased the payment to the required amount. However, we are now having lots of phone calls and even had a visit from moorcroft dca the other day. We are much better off financially since we started with apex and i do want to clear all these debts. I would like to think that we could go ahead and cancel our dealings with them and do it ourselves. Problem is that it will still take about 5 years to clear the debt.
How did you manage with negotiations? How are you faring now?
