Cheapest way to send 8kg, 60x28x34cm box with signiature?

I'm looking for the cheapest and most reliable way to send an item weighing just less than 8kg, and measuring...
60cm long
28cm wide
34cm high
Can anyone tell me who'll be cheapest? I'm guessing the post office will charge me a ridiculous amount and I've never used a courier so not sure who's best! I also require a signiature on delivery, insurance that covers at least £200, and preferable gets it there within a couple of days.
Thank you.

Where are you sending it ? This would have a huge bearing on cost

ive just bumped a really good thread for you - i used MHdirect today and they were great.0

Thanks a lot, I didn't see that thread! One thing though... Most of them only cover up to £100, and I can't see anything about upgrading the insurance.
edit: cheapest I've found is MH Direct - £11.25 including insurance up to £500. Can anyone beat that?0 -
Home Textiles have £150 insurance as standard

EDIT: see you need £200 doh !0 -
thanks, but I really need £200+ as the item is worth £220, I wouldn't want to risk it =/0

Always worth getting a quote from Pharos International (they use UPS).

Try Interparcel.

I have used them a few times for 5kg parcels at £8.20 per delivery though the insurance was only £50.
There is an option to select higher insurance.
Check the restricted items carefully.0 -
Thanks. I eventually booked with MH Direct - up to £500's worth of cover + 24 hour delivery, for £11.24. Didn't think that was too bad compared to what the post office quoted me (£19.45!).
Can anyone confirm that they definitely require a signature when it arrives with the recipient? Do they use DHL or Parcelforce? Thanks.0 -
they use DHL, and yes they do get a signature from the recipient0
