Some many Credit Cards which one ?

Clueless,

i have come to the stage, where i am doing a card clear out.
Currently i have a Amex Platium and a Peterbrough BS credit card.

I don't feel these card are doing much for me now

I need a new card, i wanted to get the Virgin Amex Card (to collect Virgin miles - as i already collect), but being a Amex card it seems a little pointless in the UK as there tends to be a trend from UK shops not taking them.

I was also going to get a Amex Charge card (Gold), but i already have a Amex card so not sure that would be any use that would be.

I guesss my requirements are
- possible collect airline point with virgin
- accepted by most shops
- maybe nice benifits like air louge access or better rates while using the card abroad.

don't need it to have BT offer or 0% purchase save ... just really need a card to protect me from using my current account delta/switch card.

any suggestions would be great

For use abroad, Nationwide is best as they don't levy the 2.75% fee that most cards do (hidden within the exchange rate). I go one step further and have a current account with debit card purely for cash withdrawals abroad.

    (I don't get paid for recommending them - it's time I did!)
However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts
  • I got an email about a bmi 0% card recently. It offered automatic diamond club membership which gives access to lounges etc if you use BMI flights. Not sure if it's any good for you, I didn't look too close tbh since I just did a round of credit card stuff and don't need to do any more for a while but it might be worth checking out...
  • It look looks like the same offer that Virgin White/Black are given, apart from the lounge access.
  • should have said as well for abroad, king weasel is right, nationwide or PO. I use nationwide and think it's great!
