School Shoes?

Having worked in a shoe shop that stocked the good brands as well as the cheaper ones, I'd say go with Clarks everytime. Ok, they are dearer but the amount of people we see buying cheaper shoes only to return them soon after was shocking. Also, if you go to a good shop that fits the shoes you can rest assured your childs feet are checked to make sure they fit and don't damage their feet.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0

clarks! we bought my daughter a pair of next boots in the sale£9 and the front was off after a week, so back to clarks when she needs a new pair, its false econamy to buy cheap shoes as they dont last.:A :j0

I grew up with Clarks and I use them for my children too.
My daughter's shoes seem to wear a lot better than my son's. I think it's a boy thing?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I just got my DD hush puppies in TK Max for £12.99. They are good solid lace ups with a small heel. Leather uppers. The fitting doesn't seem so important to me now for her as she is 14 and had the last 3 pairs of shoes in size 3 so I think her feet have stopped growing. Small family with small feet, her dad only takes size 5s. So may be worth a look there. I bought the shoes without my DD and htey said they would take them back if they didn't fit. I used to buy Clarks as her feet are quite narrow. But when they are young they grow so fast and it is very expensive.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Clarks every time. I had them when I was young and wouldn't want to put children in anything else.0

Got dd's new shoes - Had start rite this time. Her Clarks are on ebay with 11 people watching only put them on today.
She doesn't wreck shoes expensive or cheap. She's had Startrite, Clarks, Ricosta, etc.
She has very narrow feet E. So buying cheap ones isnt an option as thet tend to be for wide feet.0 -
Clarks every time , and then from the factory shop. I would not risk second hand shoes for children.0

Well done! that sounds like the perfect strategy:beer:
Buy new for your DD, when she has grown out of them but they are still beautiful sell them on.
Your DD gets the shoes she needs and you should get a reasonable sale price too, especially as, being an E they will have a "premium" as they aren't a common fitting.
Could be that another MSE or debt free wanna be will benefit from it all as well.0 -
have you tried shoesforkids.co.uk? they have clarks for a lot less than in the shops, brand new, and they're very good!Leilasmum0
